Synopsis
Reverend Mike Hill (Edward Hermann), the new minister at North Avenue Presbyterian Church, faces low attendance, lack of interest, lack of interest and the wrong side of parochialism. His first attempt to arouse interest goes awry when Rose Rafferty (Patsy Kelly) bets the church's sinking funds on a horse race. Reverend Hill grabs Rose to head out to the bookie joint, but the bookie won't refund they money. The horse loses and so does the church.

Appalled at the patronizing investigation by the police, Hill decides to fight back. Six female church members become his angels and go undercover. Their initial attempts to place illegal bets fail miserably. In fact, three of the ladies narrowly escape an angry bookie when Rose hits the wrong button on her tape recorder and The Andrews Sisters start singing. Finally, the Reverend tells the ladies to forget it, but they want another chance. So this unlikely band of super sleuths set out to foil crime…their way.
